Life loses its meaning when we get stuck up in comfort zone. –M.K. Soni
Your comfort zone is your behavioral state of mind operating in an anxiety-neutral condition, using a limited set of behaviors to deliver a steady level of performance, usually without a sense of risk. True statement… in other words, boring.
A comfort zone is a type of mental conditioning that causes a person to create and operate mental boundaries around themselves.
Where is the challenge and growth when you operate around boundaries and already know what to expect. Such boundaries create an unfounded sense of security, that is, when you establish your comfort zone you tend to stay within that zone without stepping outside of it. Step outside your comfort zone and experiment with new and different environments. You will find that you’ll be lead to new and different responses within your new environment.
You may say “I’m in my comfort zone where everything feels safe and familiar. I don’t venture beyond it.”
However, if you allow yourself to stay there you will not be challenged, experience personal growth, or learn new and exciting things. Living in your comfort zone leaves no room for adventure and excitement in your life. Don’t wait until your back is against the wall or when you begin to feel overwhelmed and trapped by boredom and fear… now is the time to stretch those limits a little. Build confidence and let your life become more exciting.
You might be concerned about what people think.
Forget about what others think. But I know how you feel, after all, it’s only natural that you don’t want people to think you’re a bit weird or creepy, right? Well, no one’s perfect, so you’re allowed to be less than perfect, and who knows, it just might make you a more exciting person to be around.
I know you’re saying, “I won’t make it, I might fail.”
Just make the decision and go out on a limb, it can be scary, because you might fail, but you know what, you might also make it and gain something…how about that. Live in the moment and focus on what you’re doing, the joy of it … be present and don’t just focus on a particular outcome. Sometimes things don’t go your way, but when you let go of that illusion, you will find yourself moving move out of your comfort zone. Even if it doesn‘t work out, at least your eyes are open and the disappointment will be easier to handle… knowing tht‘s life.
Think positive and know that everything begins with your thoughts. You’ll feel the fear and you’ll think about quitting, but keep thinking positive thoughts, such as, Comfort zone be gone or Wow this is such a great feeling or even I’m so excited. Doing this will exercise your faith, and the more comfortable you get with it, the more daring you’ll become. Now don’t confuse stepping out of your comfort zone with being reckless and stupid…. there’s a difference. Know the risks involved in whatever opportunities or challenges you’re seeking, then make your decision, along with accepting the consequences if things don’t work out. Before long, you’ll be ready to tackle other areas of your life that have become stale and dull and living a happier more fulfilled life. So, don’t get stuck in your comfort zone where life loses it’s meaning, just say….comfort zone be gone.
